Program of The Day
We will start our day with the Hippodrome - it was the center of life in Byzantium, where residents gathered for various purposes for 1000 years!
Next, we will enter one of the largest religious complexes in Istanbul-the Blue Mosque, consisting of 6 minarets. It was built in honor of Ahmed Sultan back in the 19th century and was the central point for pilgrimage. Of course, such a unique creation of Byzantine architects as the Hagia Sophia - a world-famous cultural monument-will not remain without attention.
We will then go to the most colorful closed market - the Grand Bazaar-consisting of more than 4,000 shops. You can find products for every taste - antiques, jewelry, gold, carpets, leather goods, and souvenirs are selling here.
After lunch, according to the program, we have the Tomb of the Sultan-it is hidden in the back courtyard of the Cathedral - the tombstones of the five sultans.
Next - Topkapi Palace-this palace used to be the former residence of the ruling family in Istanbul. For 400 years (15th century), the rulers of the Ottoman Empire lived in it, so the museum presents actual exhibits of the sultans' lives and their families, a rich exhibition of weapons, all sorts of Islamic relics.
Non-working hours! Blue Mosque closed during Friday prayers, Hagia Sophia closed on Mondays, Grand Bazaar closed on Sundays, Topkapi Palace closed on Tuesdays.
Important! If the Hagia Sophia is closed on Mondays - replace the Basilica Cistern. If the Sultan's Tomb is closed on Mondays, replace with the small Hagia Sophia.
